Sammy Ameobi hopes to catch the eye of Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew during preseason.

Ameobi is likely to get a run-out in Germany in games against Chemnitzer and Monaco.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "I hope that's the case. I'll just see whatever I can get.

"I just want to keep myself fit and get games under my belt. Then I'll see where we go from there."
