Sammon not about to jump ship at Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock striker Conor Sammon admits he does not know anything about a move to English Championship club Scunthorpe United.

The 23-year old is reportedly set to leave Rugby Park after Killie and Scunthorpe agreed a fee but the player himself is unaware of any potential transfer.

"I haven't heard any different, I've just heard the stories in the papers that Scunthorpe were interested, but I'm focusing on training as usual," said Sammon.

"I haven't discussed it with the manager; our next match is on Tuesday so that's all I'm focusing on and if things change in the meantime, I'm sure I'll be told about it and I'll sit down and take it from there.

"I'm very happy at Kilmarnock - this season has been very enjoyable and successful for the club and for me on a personal level as well, as I have a brilliant manager here who's helped me along and I feel I can improve further under him.

"I'm an ambitious player and I've always wanted to play at the highest level possible; I'll continue to train and work at my game to keep improving and see where it takes me."
