Aston Villa attacker Samir Carruthers is delighted to have broken into the first team.
The 19-year-old midfielder says it has been "such an honour" to be involved with the senior set-up.
"It is nice to get compliments but you can't ease up and say 'that's it, I'm sorted'," the Republic of Ireland U19 international told Villa's website.
"You've got to keep going and you want more compliments and minutes out there in the Premier League.
"I have really enjoyed it. It is just such an honour at the moment.
"I've just got to keep going and maybe break through next season and try and get more football in the first team hopefully."
