Christopher Samba has urged Blackburn Rovers teammates to forget about their relegation rivals.

He said: "In the Premier League anything can happen - look at Fulham beating Manchester United the other week. I don't think anyone would have expected that.

"We cannot count on other teams losing or dropping points. We have to continue doing things ourselves and making sure we get ourselves out of trouble, rather than worry about other teams helping us out.

"If we stay out of the bottom three, we will have done what we wanted. If we don't and get dragged back down there then it is our fault no one else's."

The defender also told the Lancashire Telegraph: "You never know what will happen in other games. There are crazy results, look at Middlesbrough beating Liverpool. It is a crazy league. Everyone can beat everyone so we have to concentrate on being the best in our game and winning that game."
