Salzburg defender Bodnar claims Celtic interest

Red Bull Salzburg defender Laszlo Bodnar states that Celtic enquired about his availability during the January transfer window. Salzburg refused to let the Hungarian go but the 30-year-old admits he could leave the club when the transfer window reopens.

"Originally Celtic wanted to sign our goal machine Marc Janko but on the games they scouted him I did great too," Bodnar told www.origo.hu

"I scored a goal and gave assists so they became interested in me too. They made an approach to Salzburg in order to sign me but the Austrian officials stated there's no amount of money they would sell me or Janko.

"But I don't think that the story is over because I know they will make contact again this summer again.

"The club didn't want to sell us because Salzburg want to win the Austrian Bundesliga. My bosses told me that they'll let me go this summer for free if I want but in January I'm not for sale at any price."
