Salford City's millionaire owners are targeting a big name manager for next season.
The Ammies, part-owned by the Manchester United Class of '92, dispensed with the services of joint bosses Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley on Tuesday despite being promoted to the National League.
Former Leeds United star and Oldham Athletic boss John Sheridan and ex-Burnley captain Graham Alexander are both under consideration, says the Daily Mail.
Alexander, 46, was sacked by League One Scunthorpe in March, despite the club occupying one of the play-off positions.
Experienced Sheridan, 53, recently left Fleetwood Town to make way for Joey Barton after overseeing a remarkable upturn in form which lifted the Lancashire out of relegation trouble. They ended the season in 14th place.
