Brian Kennedy yesterday had a tour of Ibrox as he plans to step up his bid to buy Rangers FC.
The owner of Sale Sharks rugby union club put in an official bid last Friday and it is believed that he is now no longer reluctant and could be prepared to make a serious push to help save the Glasgow giants.
Kennedy held discussions with 'Gers boss Ally McCoist yesterday with reports suggesting that he is ready to go up against the likes of Chicago consortium Club 9 Sports, Paul Murray's Blue Knights, a mystery bid from the UK and likely Dubai approach which could happen in the next 24 hours.
Former Rangers manager Graeme Souness, who is close friends with Kennedy, is expected to join the Edinburgh-born businessman in his pursuit.
