Former Juventus star Marcelo Salas is backing fellow Chilean Arturo Vidal for success in Turin.
Salas was the first Chilean to sign for Juve.
"He was a great swoop," the former Lazio striker told Calcio GP. "He's a very useful player, blessed with dynamism and good technique.
"In modern football it is important to have an element like him who can play in more than one role."
Vidal didn't start in Juve's first game of the season against Parma, but he did come off the bench to score in the 4-1 win.
"Arturo is the ideal midfield partner for Andrea Pirlo," the 1998 World Cup player continued. "They would be perfect, a complete and well assembled partnership.
"One would steal the ball with the right level of sporting aggression, while the other would dictate play. It's ideal."
