Crystal Palace need to sign a striker this summer, according to former Eagles star John Salako.

Palace were fortunate to avoid relegation considering their main striker, Christian Benteke, scored two goals during the campaign. And Salako believes Roy Hodgson needs more firepower next season.

He said: "There are probably four or five who will leave and then you need three, four or five decent quality players to come in and freshen things up again and compete next year."

"I think they need another striker and a bit of pace, and the defence maybe needs shoring up a little bit.

"Bar the start, it should have been a comfortable season and I think with three or four good quality additions, I think it will be a team that isn't struggling."
