Mohamad Salah wants to wear the number 9 shirt at Liverpool, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Egyptian is close to securing a move from Roma after the two clubs finally reached an agreement over the transfer fee.
The amount is believed to exceed the £35m paid for Andy Carroll in 2011, which will make the 24-year old the club's record signing.
Salah is expected to pen a five-year contract after he undergoes a medical on Wednesday.
The winger used the number 11 at Roma, but with Roberto Firmino currently occupying that shirt, Salah will use the number 9, which has been vacant since Christian Benteke departed for Crystal Palace last summer.
