Newcastle United's new signing Henri Saivet has expressed his desire to do his absolute best for the Magpies.

Saivet joined Newcastle from Bordeaux on a £5million deal last week and the attacking midfielder has been seen as a good capture for the Magpies.

Saivet has now spoken about his move to England and has stated that he is ready to give his all for Newcastle in their battle against relegation.

"The most important thing is I am ready and ready to play," he said after making his debut as a second-half substitute in the weekend's 2-1 win over West Ham United.

"If I am called upon, I will go out there and try to do my best.

"What matters more than anything at the moment is the club. There's no player bigger than the club, that's all that is important. But I am ready when called upon and I will make sure I give my best."
