The Guinean international revealed this to l'Equipe.
The 27 year old has also been linked with Liverpool and Rangers as well as Saudi team Al-Hilal.
"The financial proposal was so great that if the two clubs had agreed, I would have left. Al-Ain were offering me a net sum of £2.5million million a year," the player explained.
"Untransferable is a term that makes me laugh because when Saint-Etienne signed me from Bordeaux I was also 'untransferable'.
"The board did not listen to the proposals of Al-Ain and I did not want to clash with the club as others may have."
However a move has not been ruled out for the future, he "would see (where his future lies) in the next transfer window."
