Sahin: I turned down Arsenal, Tottenham for England's biggest club Liverpool

Liverpool new boy Nuri Sahin is delighted to be playing for what he describes as 'the biggest club in England'.

The 24-year old German-born Turkey international joined the Reds on a season-long loan from Real Madrid earlier this summer with the option for a permanent deal and is excited about being at a club which such rich tradition.

"I'd spoken with Jose Mourinho three times," Sahin, who had interest from Arsenal and Tottenham, told NTVSpor. "He wanted me to play in the Premier League but didn't refer to a specific team.

"I've chosen Liverpool because I wanted to play in a football team with a tradition.

"I played at one of the biggest clubs in Germany, Borussia Dortmund, and Real Madrid. And now, I play for the biggest club in England."
