Pablo Maffeo could be handed an opportunity to make his first appearance for Manchester City this weekend.

Following the injury sustained by Bacary Sagna in France's friendly win over Serbia on Monday night, City are currently facing a crisis in the right-back position.

With Pablo Zabaleta also not available, manager Manuel Pellegrini is currently facing a selection dilemma and according to the Manchester Evening News, the Chilean tactician could well consider handing Spanish youngster Maffeo a premature start with the senior side.

As an alternative to Maffeo, new signing Nicolas Otamendi being played out of position at right-back is also a possibility for the league leaders' trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
