Bacary Sagna has admitted that usurping Pablo Zabaleta as the first choice right-back at Manchester City was not an easy task.
Sagna struggled for regular first team football during his debut season at City in 2014/15 but the Frenchman managed to establish himself as a regular starter last term, making 28 Premier League appearances.
The 33-year-old has now gone on to reveal that he had to work really hard in order to earn the spot in the starting lineup as displacing Argentina international Zabaleta was not simple.
He said: "It took me time to adapt. So I worked hard.
"It was not easy, but there is nothing easy in England."
