Birmingham City fullback Mat Sadler says Alex McLeish has brought a "good vibe" to St Andrews.
"His demeanour, you listen to his every word and what he has said to us and what he is asking us to do has been welcomed.
"On the whole, he wants the lads to play free, without worrying about relegation or pressure.
"He asks us to think clearly and just go out there and perform. It's like the shackles have come off a bit and you can see that in the two games we've had under him.
"It's been enjoyable going in every day and when I was put back into the team on Saturday, I felt comfortable.
"I was just told to do my normal thing, play the ball, work hard - that's a given - no less than that.
"I didn't feel like I had to prove myself, but that they had confidence in me to contribute to the team."
