'Sad day' as Hull City relegated to Championship says Silva

Hull City manager Marco Silva admitted that Sunday was a 'sad day' in the history of the club after they suffered relegation to Championship.

The Tigers needed to win at Crystal Palace to keep their survival hopes alive, but a 4-0 defeat meant that they would be playing in the second tier of English football next season.

Speaking after the game at Selhurst Park, Silva told Sky Sports: "It's really sad for the club and for our fans.

"Of course, we did our best to make something different and of course we tried to do everything to change. This is a sad day for us."
