Mick McCarthy is taking a break from football after his dismissal at Wolves.

The Daily Mail says he has set his mind on stepping back from management for a month, after an increasingly stressful time towards the end of his Molineux reign, and recharging his batteries before seeking another post.

McCarthy was linked with the Leeds United job this week.
