Ronald Koeman has turned down the chance to jump straight back into football after his sacking by Valencia last week.

The Dutchman was offered the Mexico national team job, but rejected the approach. His agent, Ger Lagendijk, said: "Ronald has clearly indicated that he first wants to take a rest before he starts something new.

"That means that for the next three or four months he's likely to defer everything."
