Sacked Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill has ruled out retirement.
O'Neill insists he is not ready to call time on his managerial career.
In an interview with BBC Sport, he admitted: "I want to stay in club management.
"This is certainly a disappointment to me and I wouldn't want to leave it in that manner.
"You talk about shelf life, that shelf life doesn't apply to me. Club management is something I've been doing for 20 odd years.
"I've got the same drive and determination that I had when I stepped in the door at Wycombe Wanderers."
