Sacked Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio is eyeing a return to West Ham United.

Di Canio, who has been out of work since they sacked him in September, was idolised by fans of West Ham, where he played between 1999-2003.

"It is not fair talking about the team at the moment," he told BBC Sport. "I can only say that one day, one day before the end, before I go up or down, it has to happen. That is the destiny."
