Sacked Fiorentina coach Mihajlovic in frame for Serbia job

Sacked Fiorentina coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is being linked with the Serbia job.

Mihajlovic was replaced by Delio Rossi on the Viola bench and due to Serie A rules cannot take control of another Italian club this season.

"If you ask me whether Mihajlovic is ready to manage Serbia, then I reply Sinisa is 150 per cent ready both for his long career in the world of football and his enormous experience," Inter Milan veteran Stankovic told newspaper Blic.

"What counts more than anything else is not his age, but his great experience and knowledge of the sport."

Serbia are looking for a new Coach after failing to qualify for the Euro 2012 play-offs, so Radovan Djurcic is the current caretaker manager.

"Mihajlovic is among the best Serbian tacticians in circulation and he is also young," added Federation President Tomislav Karadzic.

"I'd like to talk to him to find out what his plans are. After the World Cup I called Mihajlovic two or three times, but he chose Fiorentina.

"I don't know if he can be considered the number one candidate now, but in any case we will only seek a new Coach next year."
