Sabatini on Roma thrashing: Time for some hard talk

AS Roma chief Walter Sabatini concedes they've been rocked by their 7-1 Champions League thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich.

Sabatini admits they need to re-evaluate their approach to such games.

"We certainly have to re-evaluate our international level," Sabatini told Sky Sport Italia.

"We will interrogate ourselves on what happened, as we really did not expect this. We expected to play a proud game, instead it all degenerated so quickly and the lads lost confidence.

"It is a lesson that we gladly would've avoided, but we will at least try to make the most of it for future use.

"It is a heavy weight that is difficult to remove, but we will do it, as always.

"Were we arrogant going into this game? No, that is not within our characteristics. Arrogance is unknown to Roma. We have self-confidence that we can play good football."
