Ryo Miyaichi says he's ready for lift-off at Arsenal thanks to his spell on-loan at Feyenoord last season.
He made his second appearance in an Arsenal shirt in Tuesday night's Carling Cup win over Bolton and he believes he is settling into his new life at Emirates Stadium well - even if he does have trouble understanding the language.
"It wasn't a big shock really, especially because I spent six months in Holland with Feyenoord," Ryo told the Official Arsenal Matchday Programme.
"The real shock was the difference in football between the Dutch league and the Premier League. It's a big change in level so I feel I need to get used to the style of the game here.
"I was trying to speak English in Holland, because I had to, so my use of the language improved. But then it was a real shock to see the difference in accent here in London, and it's often very difficult to understand what people are saying!"
