Europe's Ryder Cup golf captain Darren Clarke admits he would love to have Steven Gerrard speak to his team.
Clarke is a massive Liverpool supporter and suggests he is considering making an offer to the Reds skipper to address his European side ahead of the 2016 meeting with the USA team in Hazeltine, Minnesota.
Paul McGinley had Manchester United great Sir Alex Ferguson on board prior to last year's European triumph at Gleneagles in Perth, Scotland and Clarke says Gerrard, who is set to join MLS champions LA Galaxy this summer, could be used in a similar role.
"LA is not that close to Minnesota, so we will see," Clarke quipped.
"Paul (McGinley) obviously got a lot of help and advice from a lot of different people who have been in that position of managing people and looking after people, and I will be the same.
"There are a few people that I am thinking about. We'll see. He (Gerrard) is a real legend. If I were to do something like that, he would be someone I would consider."
