Rybolovlev to bankroll Monaco deal for Chelsea icon Lampard

AS Monaco are chasing Chelsea icon Frank Lampard. The Daily Mail says Monaco, backed by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, want Lampard to spearhead their revival after relegation last year.

Coached by Claudio Ranieri, who took Lampard to Chelsea from West Ham in 2001, they plan to re-establish themselves as the top club in France.

Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez has confirmed he expects Lampard and Ashley Cole to leave. Cole, 31, is expected to join PSG on a three-year deal in the summer.
