Ryan Taylor has urged Newcastle United fans to forget about preseason results.

Newcastle boss Chris Hughton is again organizing a tough preseason friendly schedule.

Taylor told the Evening Chronicle: "It's really about what happens from the first day of the season until the last.

"That's where you show your worth. It is nice to go out and prove people wrong like last season, because there were a lot of people doubting us.

"That was mainly because of pre-season results, but it just shows what pre-season is all about.

"It isn't just about getting results, it's about getting ready, and it doesn't matter if you win every pre-season game. It's about fitness, and you will probably have a few little blips in terms of results."
