Taylor is playing his part in the build-up to Sunday's trip to Sunderland.
"Since I've been injured I've joined the scouting team," he explained to nufcTV, "I sit with the club scout who goes to the game and we write our own reports.
"He does his from a scouting point of view and I do mine from a player's view - I'm there to see if I can see something different.
"I then get the lads coming up to me and asking about a certain player's strengths and weaknesses.
"It's sometimes little things like what they like to do from free-kicks or Tim (Krul) will ask me about a striker and his preferences.
"So if I can offer something different then it might just add that little extra one per cent which gets us the win."
