Ryan Taylor is prepared to play out of position at left-back for Newcastle United.

The midfielder comes off contract in June.

"I am trying to earn another contract here. My current contract is up in the summer so obviously it is not perfect but people at the football club know I can fill in at left-back if need be," he told the Evening Chronicle.

"It is obviously not a favourite position but in the manager's eyes I am probably ideal because of the fact I can fill in in those types of positions.

"When I played against Man U I just had to basically go on and do a job for the team."
