Ryan Noble targets first team return at Sunderland

Sunderland striker Ryan Noble is aiming for a first team return after shaking off long-term injury.

The 20 year-old made three appearances for Steve Bruce last term after scoring 11 goals at reserve level and Noble admits he is hungry for more.

"The longer you're out the more you want to play, and its all about building my time back up and getting minutes on the pitch," he told safc.com.

"I want to get back up to that level now I have had a set-back with injuries and now it's time to push on.

"I know I need to improve on my hold up play and build my strength up in the gym and obviously keep on top of my finishing, so that every time I do get a chance I can put the ball away.

"When you play in the Premier League - it's the best league in the world - when you get there you want to stay there.

"Obviously that hasn't quite worked out for me, so now I need to build up again and try and get there again and hopefully get my first goal at that level."
