Russia coach Capello targets 2018 World Cup

Russia coach Fabio Capello says he's staying on for the 2018 World Cup.

Russia will be hosting the tournament in four years' time, and despite flopping in Brazil, the Italian has insisted that he is in the job for the long run.

"I will remain Coach until 2018," he told La Repubblica.

The former Milan tactician then commented on this summer's World Cup, and reports that he fell out with his players.

"I never said that the goal was to reach the quarter-finals. We prepared well, but I always considered us one of the outsiders.

"I have read about what I was alleged to have told the players, but never in my life and career have I spoken like that to my players.

"I'd be a fool if I did that."
