Benfica veteran Rui Costa admitted it was an emotional night facing former club AC Milan last night.

Rui Costa finished up on the losing team and said: "Portugal is my country and I am happy at Benfica, but Italy is a special place for me and with this Milan I became a champion of Europe. It will always be with me.

"I hope we can qualify from this group alongside Milan. We thought we could stop them tonight, but it wasn't to be."
