Rubin Kazan have signed Villarreal defender Ivan Marcano.

The 24-year-old played on loan away from Villarreal for the past two years. After appearing for Getafe in 2010-11, Marcano turned out for Olympiakos last season.

A statement on the Villarreal website reads:

"Villarreal CF and FC Rubin Kazan have reached a transfer agreement for defender Ivan Marcano, who will play next season at the Russian club. We would like to thank the Cantabrian's dedication during his time at the club which came in the 2009-10 season, and wish him the best of luck."
