Rubin Kazan have signed Genoa defender Salvatore Bocchetti.

The 23-year-old was part of Marcello Lippi's 2010 World Cup expedition to South Africa.

It is a big move for the centre-back, whose career was also spent at Frosinone, Ascoli and Lanciano.

Rubin Kazan are the reigning champions of Russia and other players in the squad include ex-Inter striker Obafemi Martins and Spain's Cesar Navas.
