Rubin Kazan are ready to bid for Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse.
The Russians are turning to Cisse after a deal for PSV Eindhoven striker Tim Matavz collapsed this week.
Cisse has been a long-time target and it is believed Rubin Kazan would be prepared to fork out close to £9m for the player, says the Evening Chronicle.
That would match what Newcastle paid for the 28-year-old two years ago.
