Real Salt Lake striker Javier Morales says he will be back in action as soon as he can after suffering a broken ankle on the weekend.
The 31-year old needed to be stretchered from the ground on Saturday as RSL beat Chivas USA 1-0 at Rio Tinto Stadium after a heavy challenge from Marcos Mondaini in the 38th minute which is likely to keep him out for the season.
But Morales was in good spirits despite the injury, posting on his Twitter page that he plans to be back ASAP.
"Thanks everyone for kind words, you make me stronger, I felt bad but you make me feel much better. I'll try to be back ASAP. THANKS!!!!" he posted.
Morales suffered a broken left tibia and fibula, dislocated ankle and some ligament damage and will undergo surgery early this week.
