Wayne Routledge scored the only goal of the night as Swansea City beat St Gallen 1-0 in the Europa League on Thursday.
The winger tapped home at the far post early in the second half at the Liberty Stadium and although it was a fairly dour affair, he was thrilled to help the Welsh club to a vital three points to go top of Group A.
"No game is going to be easy and they battled hard, and in the end it was a gritty win," Routledge told ITV4.
"(The performance) shows that we have massive character but in the dressing room we know that we can knuckle down and play if we have to, but people know what we are about now."
