Round delighted with Everton squad players for Capital One Cup win

Everton No2 Steve Round was delighted with their 5-0 Capital One Cup victory over Leyton Orient.

Round was keen to praise the contributions of the incoming personnel and the way the team had approached their task overall.

He said: "That is the beauty of our squad at the moment.

"Having everyone fit and with the quality we have got within our 16 or 17 players, we could make those changes and still be competitive. Credit to the guys who came in.

"Performance always follows attitude - if your attitude is right, you get the performance right. That was a really pleasing aspect.

"I don't think I've ever had to question the attitude of an Everton team ever, and you saw tonight that they meant business right from the off.

"The seniors that played - John Heitinga, who was cool at the back, and Phil Jagielka, a top England centre-back - set the tone.

"Then you have a leader like Phil Neville in the team, who is never going to accept second best from anybody.

"You never really have to worry about the attitude at Everton, and then you just hope the football will flow and the cohesion will be there after making a couple of changes."
