Rotherham boss pays ultimate price for poor run of form

Rotherham have parted company with manager Ronnie Moore following their recent dip in form. The Millers promotion push has stuttered in recent weeks on the back of a five-game winless run which has seen them drop to sixth in the table.

Rotherham were also thrashed 5-0 by local rivals, and leaders, Chesterfield last Friday night and Moore has now left the Don Valley Stadium.

Andy Liddell has been placed in caretaker charge for the remainder of the season.

A club statement read: "Rotherham United have parted company with manager Ronnie Moore and assistant manager Jimmy Mullen by mutual consent.

"The club would like to place on record our thanks to Ronnie and Jimmy for their whole-hearted contribution to Rotherham United over a number of years in both playing and coaching capacities.

"Both will always be warmly received by Rotherham United and we wish them well for the future.

"Andy Liddell will be caretaker manger, assisted by Paul Warne and Andy Dibble, until the end of the season."
