Rotation worked last year and it will work again - Man City's Lescott

Joleon Lescott is well aware that Roberto Mancini will rotate his Manchester City squad this season.

The Italian mixed and matched his line-up regularly last term as City went on to clinch the Premier League title and with a bigger focus on the Champions League this campaign, centre-back Lescott knows that the same protocol will be followed.

"The gaffer made it clear that everyone's got a part to play this season, and it was the same last year," said Lescott who was rested for the midweek loss to Real Madrid before returning to score in yesterday's 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

"It worked for us last year and we need to stay focused on the job, and that's to go into every game to win."
