Giuseppe Rossi is unlikely to leave Villarreal this summer.

The Italy striker is still recovering from knee surgery and faces starting the season in the Spanish Segunda Division.

"There was some interest in him from Roma, but the deal was complicated because of the injury," Federico Pastorello told Sport Italia.

"We can talk about it again when Pepito returns to the field of play."
