Lazio coach Delio Rossi was unhappy with the treatment fans gave president Claudio Lotito during last night's Coppa Italia semifinal defeat to Inter Milan.

The exit prompted a protest from Lazio fans who forced owner Lotito out of the stands.

"Lazio have not been up to the right standard this season, but I think we have the foundations to do better. The important thing is we don't throw the baby out with the bathwater," insisted Rossi.

"I have a contract and we will discuss it with the President, but it isn't the right time to talk about it."
