Delio Rossi has been named new coach of Palermo.

Rosanero president Maurizio Zamparini sacked Walter Zenga yesterday and immediately replaced him with former Lazio coach Rossi.

Rossi has signed a deal with the Rosaneri until June 2011.

"Palermo announces that it has appointed Delio Rossi as the coach of the first team. He has signed a contract until June 30, 2011, with an option for the club to extend the contract for a further campaign.

"Rossi will be unveiled to the media tomorrow morning," explained a statement on the club's website.
