Rossi: Higuain Juventus deal about titles - not cash

Italy legend Paolo Rossi is impressed by Juventus' record move for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentine is due to complete his €94 million move this week.

“Higuain is a great player who guarantees an important step up in quality for Juve," Rossi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Now they can really go on to win the Champions League. I think Higuain's decision wasn't about money, but rather because he wants to win, not just in Italy, but also in Europe.

“Perhaps he's the best centre-forward in the world right now, but he is certainly among the top three. I've seen him do incredible things, he can score in any way and is a guarantee of goals.

“He's a classic centre-forward, devastating in the box, but can also combine with his teammates. He's therefore an old-style striker with the characteristics of a modern player. He's got good technique, but also physical strength.

“His best quality is keeping his cool in front of goal and the determination he plays with. If he scores one goal, he immediately tries to go for another. His hunger for goals and victories is perfectly in line with the Juve attitude, so he'll fit right in.

“It's hard to find a defect in Higuain's game, perhaps his heading ability."
