Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi is backing Gerard Pique for success at Manchester United.

Rossi left United in the summer in search of regular first team action and is delighted for good friend Pique, who has impressed during his senior appearances this season.

"I am a very good friend of Pique's," said Rossi. "Gerard has great talent. Last season he did very well on-loan with Real Zaragoza and now has returned to Manchester United and is again doing very well.

"He has many years of success ahead of him."
