Ross to leave Aberdeen

Maurice Ross has rejected Aberdeen's offer of extending his short-term stay beyond January. The 28-year-old joined the Dons in October after being released by Turkish club Kocaelispor in the summer.

Boss Mark McGhee said: "I always hoped that he might change his mind or that he might be persuaded to stay.

"But Maurice had remained very determined to seek his fortune and his fame elsewhere. It looks like he's going to go to China."

Ross, who has 13 Scotland caps, began his career with Rangers before spells with Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves, Millwall and Viking Stavanger before moving to Turkish football.

"Maurice has done a good job for us while he's been here," said McGhee.
