Scottish Premier League new boys Ross County are still looking at the possibility of signing striker Derek Riordan.
The 29-year old forward is currently a free agent after finishing a short-term deal with St Johnstone at the end of last season and County boss Derek Adams admits he wants to sign the former Celtic and Hibernian man who has been unfairly labelled as a bad boy.
"People talk about problems but I have dealt with far worse than Derek. He is a good boy and, dare I say it, an intelligent lad," the Staggies manager told Record Sport.
"The past is the past. Let's see what the future holds. Derek is a player with an outstanding ability to score goals.
"Our interest in him remains very much alive. He is an option we are keen to pursue and we are still speaking to his agent.
"If possible, we would like to sit down and talk with them, hopefully sometime this week.
"Riordan has a great goalscoring record - the third best in SPL history - and can also play just in behind the striker.
"We're realistic - others are interested so it will be difficult for us - but we'll keep trying.
"Setting aside money and contracts, I suspect Derek just wants to play football. If he feels coming here would give him that platform then the opportunity is there.
"I think it would be good for him. I worked with him at Hibs and know the lad quite well."
