Ross County midfielder Richard Brittain wants a pre-contract agreement he signed with St Johnstone to be ripped up.

The 29-year old penned a deal with the Saints in January to join in the summer but he has backtracked on that idea, with County boss Derek Adams saying he wants to remain with the Staggies.

"I've known for a wee while now what the situation is," he told the Daily Record.

"I can't really say anything else because it is in Richard's and St Johnstone's hands.

"Richard previously stated he wanted to move to St Johnstone and I believe he is in discussions with them now.

"Sometimes you feel you've made a mistake and you want to move out of that situation.

"I've obviously read comments but we will not pay any money to St Johnstone if anything was to happen."
