Roma president Rosella Sensi has told coach Claudio Ranieri that a long run in the Europa League is a priority.
While Roma are also chasing a Champions League finish in Serie A, the financial rewards from a successful Europa League campaign has convinced Sensi to demand Ranieri pour his resources into the competition.
The Giallorossi have already cashed 1.6m for their participation in the Europa League and they will net another 270,000 if they make it through to the Quarter-Finals.
Should Roma actually win the competition then they will be rewarded with a cheque for 14m, a figure that would perhaps be re-invested in the team this summer.
