Tottenham wing-back Danny Rose has welcomed the appointment of Andre Villas-Boas.

Rose is pleased with the Portuguese's appointment but admits it was a big decision to let Harry Redknapp leave.

"It is a great appointment," said Rose.

"It was pretty bold move by the club to sack Harry Redknapp.

"But the chairman's intentions are to take the club forward and everyone is fully behind him and Villas-Boas as well.

"I am pretty unfortunate not to have met him yet because I am away here, but I am looking forward to going back and meeting him and getting to work with him."
